"Editors make good writers" is what they
say. But after years of working as a teacher, personal English Language tutor, and now as a personal editor I can say
with confidence that it is confidence that makes the writing. And confidence in your editor will do wonders for putting
your mind at ease when you hand your manuscript off.
Too many native and non-native English
speakers are less than confident about their own capability to handle the English language. Too many writers fear trusting
their words to an editor. But we can change that.
I have had a lifelong love affair with
words. I have been editing/writing for 9 years now and am known for my scrupulous eye. I am familiar with Strunk and
White, APA, MLA, Chicago, and Turabian style manuals (for the students); and know how to cut fat and
add flavor to a creative piece in no time flat. I have edited/proofread dissertations, MA theses, short essays, and short
stories; written up resumes, contracts and proposals; taught speakers of other languages how to speak English....you name
it.
I hold two degrees in English Language and Literature, just moved to Chicago and best of all, I can make you
look good. Because it's not that "editors make good writers" it that "editors make writers good."
Call...write, we'll have coffee on me,
